A run around the Fairfield Horseshoe EVERYDAY in February…
Yep. You read that right. That is indeed what Ash, one of our staff members is doing through February. Ouch.
To say we have rather active staff would be bit of an understatement.
This month, one of our staff members Ash is taking on a personal challenge of his very own. He is currently running round the Fairfield Horseshoe everyday through February (yep, you heard that right…. Every. Day.) Ash works full-time for us so 5 days a week, this is done before or after work. Thankfully Ash lives in Ambleside so it’s a quick commute for A) getting onto the horseshoe itself and B) getting into work (he can benefit from a little extra sleep I guess...)
At over 10 miles long and with over 1000m of ascent, the Fairfield Horseshoe is not an easy feat for many and is a round that shouldn’t be underestimated. It is one of the most classic Lake District rounds and rightly so deserving of its popularity. A high-level round in the hills like this certainly requires reliable kit. Thankfully for Ash, he works in a rather good outdoor shop (😉) and has had no struggle in getting the best kit he needs for this challenge. We will write an update as to what kit Ash is using and testing later this month. A few highlights are his footwear and two models in particular have kept Ash’s feet pretty happy. These being the Scarpa Golden Gate Kima RT and the Spin Infinity.
Some of the staff here will and have been joining Ash out on the hill. Recently he was joined by Ali who wanted to mention that despite at the time being on day 9, he was still bouncing about like the super keen and positive person he is (her real words were actually ‘nutter’). If you are out on the Fairfield Horseshoe this month, keep an eye out for him as you may well have a good chance of bumping into him. Be sure to give him a high-five. We’ll be sure to fire updates every now and then.
We know one thing. We are fairly sure Ash will take a fair few Strava ‘Local Legends’ off people this month…
Keep it going Ash! 👊
It’s fair to say Ash will get some pretty special moments running round Fairfield Horseshoe everyday this month. It is also fair to say that he’ll get some he’d rather not repeat (it is February after all). Here are some images so far from Ash…
