How You Can Help The Nepal Flood Disaster
Like many of you we have watched the recent floods in Nepal with horror.
Some of us have friends directly affected, others have work colleagues with their own stories to tell. In the face of such devastation it’s easy to feel helpless so here are a few ways we know you can help:
Doug Scott’s charity Community Action Nepal has been requested by the Nepali Government to help with short and long term recovery projects. You can donate here and add “Flood relief” to your donation to ensure your money is used expressly for the recent disaster.

This is a very early chance to see two fantastic films just off the M6 at Rheged.
The Five Treasures Of The Snows tells the story of the 1955 Kangchenjunga Expedition where Joe Brown became one of the first Britons to climb over 8000m. This film features never before seen interviews and original colour footage.
A Thousand Words follows the footsteps of legendary mountaineer and photographer Vittorio Sella – the pioneer who captured the first images of Mount Everest 127 years ago. Part travelogue, part mystery and part tribute, the film probes our obsession with the high mountains and image making, asking how – in a world where AI, digital shortcuts and social media rule much of our lives – we can find time to slow down and appreciate the natural world.
