International School of Mountaineering.

The Climbers Shop and Joe Brown are very proud to be associated with the International School of Mountaineering (ISM) based in Leysin, Switzerland, and to be their official retail partner.

The International School of Mountaineering is widely recognised as the most foremost organisation of its kind. Since 1965 the school has been running the most extensive programme of alpine mountaineering courses available to English-speakers internationally. This is coupled with a range of treks cross the Alps in summer, Ski Tours and Off-Piste skiing courses throughout the spring, and ice climbing courses in winter months. Countless people have discovered the mountains throughout ISM; experienced climbers return time after time to enjoy and progress through a wide-ranging alpine programme and perhaps share the great adventure of an ISM expedition.

Both Joe Brown Shops and The Climbers Shop have an equally long history; with The Climbers Shop in 1959 in Ambleside, Cumbria and the very first Joe Brown shop opening in 1966 in Llanberis, North Wales. The Climbers Shop and Joe Browns very own heritage of supplying the very best in mountaineering and climbing gear, very much compliments ISM’s tradition of offering the very best training in mountaineering and Alpinism, so in many ways our partnership was an obvious choice.

If you have booked an ISM course, you can benefit from preferential ISM client prices on all our clothing and gear, whether its new ice tools, replacement mountain boots or technical alpine clothing that you need.

For further information about the courses and services run by ISM, visit their website.
