13th April 2026 〰️
Join us at the shop for a very special book signing event …..
A Lake District local, Leo operates on the world stage pushing the limits of exploratory adventure and expedition climbing to the remotest reaches of the globe.
On Monday 13th April, Leo will be joining us upstairs in The Climbers Shop from 10am - 1pm to meet, chat and sign his stunning large-format book; Exposed - Leo Houlding.
“Exposed” highlights Leo's landmark endeavours, captured through breathtaking photography and accompanied by compelling stories. Compiled by award-winning film-maker Alastair Lee, whose stunning photography accounts for much of the book, this is a labour of love that Alastair has always wanted to release. Only two copies of the very first edition were produced in 2020 as a 40th birthday present from Alastair to Leo.
The book presents Leo's most celebrated climbs, from his youngest first ascent of the Old Man of Hoy, aged 11, through to his expeditions to the likes of Queen Maud Land in Antarctica where Leo made the first ascent of Ulvetanna's north-east ridge. Accompanying the photographs is text by Leo himself, offering a unique insight into the stories behind the incredible shots.
We’ll have copies available for sale and Leo will be on hand to sign and personally dedicate books with your chosen message.
Supported by Berghaus, we are delighted to pass all proceeds from this event on to Community Action Nepal. As a Trustee, Leo continues the vital work of the charity founded by Doug Scott to deliver education, health and livelihood programmes to remote communities in Nepal.
